ENACTUS

Enactus is a global student organization that gives students the opportunity to engage in entrepreneurship while making a difference. Students are able to start and run businesses that address the Global Goals for Sustainable Development as set out by the United Nations. Enactus not only allows students to unleash their entrepreneurial spirit, but to also develop talent and perspective essential to leadership in our ever-changing world.

Enactus UFV currently has over fifty student members and has four ongoing projects, including Fraser Valley AgroConnect. We have been awarded grants from Shaw, PC Financial, Samsung, The Co-Operators, Scotiabank and several more through Enactus Canada directly.

Our Advisors

Liam Ritchie

Liam Ritchie is a second-generation poultry farmer and veterinary technician. Liam graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Diploma in Agricultural Technology, and a Certificate of Professional Communications from the University of the Fraser Valley. Liam has been in the agriculture community by working with Farm Credit Canada, British Columbia Broiler Hatching Egg Committee, Canadian Poultry Consultants as well as managing a small Full Blood Wagyu herd as a hobby. Liam currently works at Canadian Poultry Consultants and conducts research in a commercial-sized poultry farm. His experience ranges from boots on the ground to managing clients in-office.

In an advisory role with AgroConnect, Liam plans to help connect the project with the agricultural community as well as aiding in business development plans that adhere to the agricultural objectives.

Darwin Biamonte

Darwin Biamonte is from Cheam First Nation and a recent graduate. Darwin has completed a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a minor in Operations Management / Management of Information Systems, along with a Certificate in Professional Communications from the University of The Fraser Valley.

Darwin first started working with Indigenous businesses in 2016 and Indigenous economic development in 2020. His experience in business development ranges from university classes, consulting, Enactus UFV and his work at the Sqewqel Development Corporation as the Manager of Retail & Marketing.

In an advisory role with AgroConnect, Darwin provides insight on marketing, business development and funding opportunities.
